WOOTS ! finally i'm back from youth camp :)
Monday 10th Dec
kelvin's mum fetched me, haixin, benedict, kelvin & his bro to PPHBC to gather with the rest of the church youths (:
after arriving at the church, we were asked to get into our groups. when me and dict went to meet up with our team 8, we were like sian diaos~ because our group is extremely, super quiet ! then benedict kept telling me he should not have changed group to be in the same group as me = our group members consist of Juliana (Team Leader), Peter (Assistant Team Leader), Samantha, Jonathan, Aretha, ShuAnne, Estella, Caleb, Reuben, Benedict Lim, Kit Mun, Benedict Seow and ME ! xD just when the atmosphere almost got colder, Juliana came back from her duty at the reception and joined us.
then we had team time, where she told us we had to perform a skit about a transformation of a character in the bible. then she was like asking for suggestions, but we all remained silent. then benedict keep typing in his fone that he wanted to whack me for being in this team~ but because we started telling juliana to let reuben ( who was late ) be the main lead, we got some laughters in our group, and that's great (:
our team was asked to do duty for lunch, so we had to help the caterer to bring the food to the canteen. then actually the caterer's son wanted to take the curry on his own, but the caterer insisted it was too heavy and requested for me & dict to carry it. then we carried it, but benedict refused to go down the stairs first. so i the shorter one went down the stairs first, but benedict forgot that he was too tall, and in the end the curry poured out and spilled on my pants. i thought it was nothing, but in the end we moved another step down & the curry spilled again, this time at my legs. then upon reaching the canteen, someone else took the curry from us and we went to the toilet to clean up. my shoe was a goner, all covered in curry. yeah, we washed up and stuff, i am real suay. after we changed then we go eat lunch, then i was like super sad with my shoes cos I JUST BOUGHT IT :(
then we travelled to CDANS adventure centre and "checked-in", and proceed on to the games they had planned. the first game goes like this - 2 teams would challenge each other, and they would send a representative up, both facing each other. then the game i/c would name a category eg. cars and both players would have to take turns to name different brands of cars. whoever repeats or fails to answer would have to get splashed with water. that game was fun, looking at people get splashed, even i myself got wet too, cos i challenged clara, who was definitely better in shopping cos our topic was shopping centres. ~ then the second game was dog & bone + tic tac toe. 8 of us were numbered and the game i/c would call out a number. the person called would have to come up and choose a box. then they can move around so dat when the next 2 players come up, they could form a line easily without being blocked out by the other team. we THRASHED our opponent, total ownage :)
then after the games, me & benedict requested to go home and grab a fresh new pair of shoes since it is needed for the next 2 days. then juliana allowed us to go back. then we went dict's house first, den i tried washing my shoes but no use. then went home disappointed & bathe oso. then haixin smsed me and say no food le, so we ate at my hse before taking taxi back to CDANS. and after arriving i realised i forgot to take the umbrella i had borrowed to go back home.
by the time we went back the worship had already ended and the was message by pastor daniel. then after the message was suppose to be supper, but it was cancelled as the message took over the time of it. then we went to sleep in our bunks, where everyone had to sleep in their sleeping bags on solid wooden floor. then just nice haixin they all chose a "under the aircon" spot. then everywhere was filled up lahs. so at night they complained it was HOT, so we turned down the aircon to 17 degress celcius. in the end in the middle of the night, me, kelvin, benedict and haixin was shivering like mad, cos the aircon was blowing directly at us. yeah, we had a good night sleep :(
Tuesday 11th Dec
we woke up at around 6pm by the other guys who were jumping all around, making dozens of noise. we had quiet time first, where we read a few verses of the bible and talked about it in small groups of 2-3 people. then we had breakfast. it was BEEHOON ! nice man :)
then we went for worship. i was feeling okay during worship, but once it came to message, my drowsy medicine affected me so much i dozed off a few times during the message. then i noticed many other youths fell asleep too. i felt very bad about it and told myself never to sleep again during worship or message. ohya, i forgot to mention that our worship was held at the Auditorium at CDANS 3rd storey, and it was cool :)
then during worship, my uncle john brought the umbrella i left at home to me, thanks loads uncle :)
then we all took our set of clothings and then travelled to vivo city for lunch ! on the way there we prayed to God for good weather, and that it won't be raining when our activities were going on. then we had lunch at the food court, where each of us is given $4 to eat. then while we were eating reuben keep talking and doing funny stuff, then i keep laughing. then juliana wanted to laugh oso! hahas, it was even funnier when she tried not to laugh as compared to reuben's "jokes". then i noticed estella didn't even finish half of her noodles. best ._. then we went to Sentosa by the monorail ! i was like so excited cos i have never taken it before since it opened ( i went to Sentosa by car almost everytime ) then Benedict Lim super cold lahs, saying that the door would open at the maintainence stop ._. then after arriving at Sentosa, we were given our clues and we started our Amazing Race. our first stop was at Delifrance, near the Underwater World. our task was to record a total of 600~650kg worth of weights from the tourists there. the angmohs are really nice, they didn't reject our offer and were oso very friendly towards us, and that's cool :) a family even gave us 3 used tickets for the Luge for our side quest. hahas. lucky us. then second task was at the beach, where we had to use only our clothes to collect water from the sea into a bottle of water. Jonathan kindly took out his shirt and sacrificed it for us to use, and so did the rest of us, going into the sea to get wet :) then our next task was finding our own team cards amongst the sand ._. then reuben (finally) helped out by digging the sand vigorously and all the sand landed on caleb. poor him. then reuben stopped and said his nails/fingers were bleeding becos of it ._. then we rushed for our next task, which was cheryl's station. then we were asked to learn the dance they had choreographed for us. it was nice and funny :) hahas. then we were like saying kelvin would definitely like this station alot and would stay here the longest :P we wanted to go on for more, but due to time constraints, we had to go back to beach station to gather. then we had to change into our new set of clothes, but the toilet was full. so me, kelvin and benedict went to change in the baby's changing room. hahas. it was big ! then we changed and went back to vivo for our dinner :) we went to burger king, and the girls forgot to bring their student pass ._. then they tried to use some excuses so that they can see ours. hahas. then at the counter, we all ordered for student meal, but the person serving didn't believe the girls were students, so we had to flash our cards to them instead. then we bought our food and sat down together. then reuben, as usual, continued his story to those sitting near him. then i moved my chair slightly backwards so that i can look at him, as though i am watching a television show. hahas. then the girls didn't finish their mountain of fries ._. then they started playing with it, forming some weird shapes and imitating people, asking them to guess who they are imitating with the fries, where they are actually imitating with their own actions. our very best benedict can't get it till we had left the place. then they all left with the mountain of fries still there. then i decided to take it away. hahas. while waiting for the bus to arrive, i asked the girls not to waste it and at least eat a few of it. then they refused. so i challenged shu anne to a game of scissors paper stone. if i lose i eat 3, she lose she eat 1. in the end i ate alot more than her. yeah~ ._. then we went back to the campsite, happy and satisfied with the activity today. then we were supposed to shower, but the queue to bathe was super duper long, then the usual 4 of us decided not to bathe. so we just went for worship straight away. after worship was over, we all sat down and listened to the message. in the end me and dict smelt something fishy and smelly. then we thought it came from our feet. so we went to the toilet and wash our feets at the basin. i was like thinking, should anyone come in and saw us it wud be super paiseh. and just nice after i told dict about it, someone came in ._. then the second time i decided not to say again, then dict say should pastor come in we sure laugh. then just nice.... someone came in, but not pastor. hahas. phew, but i was shock. then after we were done with our feets, we went on with slippers. and just nice pastor walked into the toilet. hahas, heng wor. after the message was over, we were supposed to have supper, but as usual was cancelled. then we all went back to our bunks, all smelling of dict's DOVE deodorant. then we were about to sleep when benjamin brought in oreo cookies for us. God bless :) i was starving. hahas. then haixin, dict and kelvin started learning how to fold paper flowers from jingmin~ then very quickly i fell asleep le. in the night, it is still as cold ! this time was worst, i covered my whole body, including my head, with the sleeping bag already. cold night ._.
Wednesday 12th
we woke up at 6am again, and didn't get to bathe again. then we had quiet time and learned another verse. then we went for worship and message. while we were there, caleb asked benedict wad RK stands for as we always call reuben by that. and when dict told him dat RK stands for reuben kam, he repeated come come come, then just nice reuben came and sat behind us, so i thought it was so coincidental, so i laughed, and just nice reuben heard dict's and explaination + my laughter = thinking we were laughing at him again. then he started scolding us. then kelvin came and sat behind dict, then reuben scolded him as well. then reuben started saying like we are supposed to apologise to him within an hour. then we were like "not the same thing again" then we ignored him. then after the worship and message, we went back for discussion time.
however, reuben had some problem with us again and this time, before lunch, he went to complain about us and stuff to Juliana. then we saw how serious juliana was with reuben, and actually we wanted to go apologise to reuben so that he could stop his entire nonsense, but juliana stopped us and asked us away. then we ate lunch and reuben continued pestering juliana with his complains. people tried going there to serve them food, they turned it down. joshua tried to stop their conversation, but somehow it didn't work. i felt very guilty because it was our own problem and yet juliana had to be involved, then her eyes were teary lorhs. then lunch was over and we went to CDANS to wait for the bus. i almost went emo lor with all the stuff that happened. good thing i apologised to juliana and she said she was alright. phew!
den we went to drop our stuff at PPHBC and went off to Kent Ridge Park ! woohoo~ BB memories flood me the moment i reach there :)
our first game was 1-legged catching. lols, it had rained heavily so the floor was wet. but we still played. the game goes like - the opponent team would start off somewhere away from the 2 representatives sent by the other team. then the 2 catchers have to catch as many ppl as possible, but only can catch them in the same running direction. we had a draw with team 4. hahas.
then we went for our next game, which was looking for things in a pail - a mixture of things like curry powder, water, sweet drinks, newspaper and many more. GROSS! but we just carried on playing and our game was a tie again !
our third game was passing messages with water in our mouth ! it was funny seeing my teamates trying to speak with their mouth full of water. hahas. at first i tried speaking with loads of water in my mouth, but i sounded like a goldfish ! den juliana taught us to have lesser water in our mouth and it was much easier. but in the end both teams have the messages wrong!
then our last game was leading a blindfolded person to take stuff on the ground. we almost won ~ yah almost. hahas, but good job to all in my team :) team 8 rocks !
then we went back and didn't have time to shower again ! then we took this time to write encouragement cards :) then we had dinner ! dinner was really nice, too bad benedict don't like western food, so i took his share ! muahahaha~ then juliana was like going around taking photos of us unknowingly ._. but it was fun as we started using all the common phrases we used these few days. for mine was like that's great/cool, then benedict was best, then shu anne's was you very funny leh & juliana's imitation of evers' oOoO okay! hahas, funny people ~ then after dinner we went to the worship hall for Performance, followed by worshipping and message. this time it was really really nice worshipping to the Lord as we worshipped for 4 hours and we didn't even feel tired! HOORAY & PRAISE THE LORD ! then we went back to our bunks after it was over as there was OTOT! then i quickly go bathe. then it was extremely cold ! i was like shivering when i was bathing. hahas, but it was super refreshing ! then i watched Transformers for awhile and i actually fell asleep. then the usual 4 of us and amelia went to the playground and chat for awhile, before bringing monopoly set to the kindergarten room. then i was so tired, i fell asleep just sleeping on the table. in the end haixin they all brought sleeping bags down and we all sleep :)
Thursday 13th Dec
we woke up around 9am and packed our stuff. then we went to gather for breakfast, and it was still nice :)
we didn't have quiet time, and went straight for thanksgiving, where there was worship for awhile, then people would come up to give thanks and then back to worship again. it was really cool, as in having worship and giving thanks together. and the whole camp ended nicely after we packed our stuff and we took photos together :) team 8 really really rocks !
then we went to eat lunch at the restaurant nearby, and i ate horfun + big gulp (available at 7-11, not the restaurant) before waiting for the bus. then benedict left for home in 188 while we took bus 30. then we went jurong point and i bought a new wallet ! :) so happy cos i finally got my spoiled wallet replaced. yeah~
then went home and started using com. i was tired lorhs, but dunno why don't feel sleepy. then dragged till 12.30am then sleep :)
I LOVE YOUTH CAMP ~ really really the best camp i've gone so far :) so far becos i would be going for the youth camp next year if possible XD
before i end off, i want to thank God for making everything possible in this camp, the committee involved in this camp, those who had wrote nice things for me and also team8 for bringing so much joy to me for the 4days 3nights. THANKS ALL ! :)
